This is a demonstration blog for journalism students.
Blogs are now the standard professional and self-publishing tool for journalists, writers, media organisations and corporate marketers. learning how to use them wisely and professionally is now a key skill for all journalism students. At the University of Wollongong we use blogs in nearly all our classes as the standard format for presentation of assessment tasks.
This blog is both an introduction to how to work the WordPress blogging system and a demonstration of good blogging.
It has been put together by Marcus O’Donnell, the journalism program convenor at the University of Wollongong. Marcus is a former magazine and newspaper journalist and editor who has been a journalism educator for the last eight years. You can follow him on twitter @marcusod for more tips on blogging, online journalism and convergent cultures.
